The Merlion Hotel

Exams finally ended and holidays have come around and I've finally done something holiday-like.

One of my sister's friends booked the Merlion hotel for a night and invited a bunch of us to go down and experience it! So we went there at night and this is what the entrance looks like:

So it's basically this red box built around the Merlion's head.

The tiny little balcony in the hotel has an awesome waterfront view. But actually it probably looks equally awesome from outside the room. We managed to watch the laser show, which was quite pathetic. Zap here Zap there twirl around a bit :/ Musical fountain better. The music was quite soft also, like when i was on pulau ubin for OBS and hearing party music coming from Malaysia in the dead of the night kind of soft.

But the deco inside the room was nice. I like this clock. Like so rustic. And the table is a mirror.

And then the Chinese horses.

And i think this is supposed to be the designer's name. So he put himself on the toilet floor so that one can honor him in the peaceful moments of bathtime.

This is half the room. The wallpaper actually leaves much to be desired. There's sir stamford raffles with really serious wrinkles, chinese boats and temples in red outlines on a maroon background... It's like he was doing an ancient China theme.

This is what we had for dinner. Despite all the interesting decorations available for our inspection and wonderment, being in the room was pretty boring, because there was no TV, or any other form of entertainment and no one brought the usual cards and such. So we talked, ate, and played with the house cat....

Like this.

And this.

We fed it too.

I merely stood on its tail.

And then i was urged to jump off onto the bed...

But anyway, this is the whole crew perched all over the mercat.

And this is a very strange looking, merlion plushie. It looks like an old folk.

And this, is the scene from The Ring.

So anyway the hotel is like a temporary structure so they will tear it down soon, so i'm quite glad that i got the chance to enter this interesting place and touch the Merlion and climb all over it even. Prior to this i hadnt ever even come near this Merlion.

Oh, and the floor boards can be pretty scary cuz if you have one bad tempered guy stamping all over the ground the whole room shakes like the slight tremors from a nearby earthquake.

So thus was a fun evening.

Unfortunately, a tragedy occurred where my sis left her phone in the cab but that will be a story for another day.
