so, ya, bean

So! The first week of school is over. And it has been half interesting, and half uninteresting. My last week of holidays, highlight: kite flying with wenying! First time kite flying, not to be the last! Awesome fun, even if it was in the middle of a drizzle that gradually became a rainstorm. I wanna go kiteflying again!!

Anyway the main point of this post is... i got my new companion after much consideration! He is bigger than i expected at 8 weeks old. Here is a little information about him:

Name: Soyabean
Breed: long-haired Syrian
Birthday: 1 Dec 2010
Colour: Pretty much beige though he was supposed to be grey
Size: About the size of the palm of my hand
Temperament: Cautious
Diet: Peanut, strawberry cream hamster biscuit, sunflower seeds

He doesnt really eat anything else apart from the above mentioned. He ignores fruits and all the other bits in the hamster food. He eats a little bread but negligible. I guess he's still a baby and still learning. Soyabean is expensive!! He cost a lot in food and housing... here's a breakdown:

Soyabean himself: $28
House: $8.90(too small!!) new house: $26.90
waterbottle: $4.50
adhesive-backed velcro for pasting bottle in cage: $6.35 (got ripped off stupid homefix)
running wheel: $9.95
hammie hideyhole: $7.40
mineral chewing banana: $3.10
absorbent bedding: a blood-sucking $17
food: $5+ (strawberry biscuit), $2.35 (dried mealworms), $4+?(yoghurt drops which he doesnt even eat, but good thing fatty and hit eats it)

That adds up to $123.46!!! (wa almost 12345) Luckily i have the goodness of mother and honeybun to help me pay most of the cost. I only paid for soyabean himself and some of his food... and he is still refusing to be sociable. I'm leaving him alone to settle in for now...

School is crap. Lab report within the first week of school is not fun. Especially when you don't know half of what youre doing. Math of games is interesting though. Japanese is going to kill me. Psychology is turning out to be a killer (must take part in research studies as research subjects??They think we so free arh... lab already takes up 3-4 hours each time...). The life science modules this sem are all so chem that they suck many. Ugh. Shall look up to the stars and hope for a better day...
